Hi,

I'm not sure about the origin ?
I find in 1962...
Hi !
Well ... that's a bit tricky.
Obviously it is a french-made case and electronics using the Dual 1006 chassis.
It cost back then over 1.600 New Franques, which was quite an amount in 1962.
That were roughly 400 US$ of 1962 - Estimated about 2.500 Euro by todays money including inflation.
The inards are of good quality. Philips tubes with two EL84 final amps, Audax main and Lorenz tweeter speakers.
I couldn't find out anything about the manufacturer so far. But so did you I guess ...
Most companies in France starting with S.F.x.x. begin with "Societe Francaise de..." - add your own imagination "Electrique et Audio"
I really don't know.

Hi !
For the Dual cds 420 ? i can replace with modern thing ?
As far as I recall the CDS420 has 1/2"-style fixing with two screws from above within the removeable holder.
You might come away with using the CDS661, which is the 1/2"-version of the welknown Dual CDS660 "Dual Click" ceramic systems.
The CDS671 is essentially the same system - but features a click-down shield, which the 661 hasn't got (and don't need to be honest). Even the pinout should be the same but you need matching bolts and nuts (M2.5 AFAIR) but that would be the least problem guess. It should nicely fit under the LK33 clip-out system carrier instead of the CDS420.
Technically the CDS420 is a crystal system while the CDS6xx are ceramic systems. Soundwise the ceramic systems have a more flatter response curve, come away with slightly lower force (at 4.5p) and both channels have more equal characteristics and lesser distortion. The amplifier should have no problem adopting the new systems.

The very rare "Dash-8" - Dual CDS660-8. A Kit with the CDS660 "Snap On" + a 1/2" Adapterplate.
And I haven't seen that thing for such a low price *for years*.
... and if all fails: I must have a bag of various BSR Systems of which many may have a 1/2" adapter frame.
hello philou,
Do you have more Information about the super-orchestre ?
