Update: Since I couldn't remove the toothed disc, I reassembled the motor and the tick was gone! Must have been some kind of alignment issue. There were no loose parts or foreign objects. I just took it apart to the toothed disc, put it back together, and the tick was gone. I'm in the middle of replacing all the caps so I don't know if it works yet. I hope so.

First time poster.
Thank you for the detailed description of how to work on EDS900. I have a Dual 704 with a EDS900 that has a tick, twice per every revolution. The toothed disc will not slide up and off the spindle. I have the correct tool but the toothed disc will not move. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
